Salary: £25,192 - £27,152 per annum

About the Role

Reporting to the Assistant Head of Department for Electrical Installations, you will provide high-quality technical support across the department, helping to ensure practical learning programmes are delivered effectively and safely.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and carrying out basic repairs to equipment within workshops and training areas
  • Preparing and setting up tools, equipment, materials and assessment areas for practical teaching sessions
  • Supporting lecturers during practical workshops, demonstrations and assessments
  • Ensuring workshops and training environments remain safe, organised and compliant with Health & Safety requirements
  • Assisting with the preparation and development of practical learning activities
  • Contributing to team meetings and the ongoing development of the Electrical Installations curriculum
  • Supporting the day-to-day operation of the department and other associated duties as required

About You

We are looking for an organised, proactive and reliable individual who enjoys working as part of a team and supporting the development of learners.

You will have:

  • A minimum Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations
  • At least one year's relevant trade experience within an electrical environment
  • Practical knowledge of electrical maintenance and repair
  • Up-to-date understanding of Health & Safety requirements relating to Electrical Installations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good administrative and organisational abilities
  • The ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
  • A positive approach to building effective working relationships with colleagues and students
